When writing this song we were inspired by the guitar melodies, heavy horn lines and driving rhythms of soukous and afrobeat. The lyrics incorporate imagery of space, light and time to reflect that all moments through history and our lives are still with us and nothing is lost. They emphasise that we don’t need to be wishing for something from our past or waiting for something to come as the present moment holds all we need. The track culminates in a spacious, trance-like outro where melancholic synths, horns and strings are layered over a breakbeat rhythm. The song was written as a collaboration between all the band members to commemorate our shared love of African dance music and to share a message of love and light.
